AVM's treatment of avm of left leg/knee
I am a 30 year old female and I just found this site. I can't beleive what I am reading. I am considering treatment only now because I was always told by specialist to leave this AVM alone. A vascular surgeon did attempt to "pin" close feeders to my AVM only to have returned fully revascularized two years ago. I woluld love to here from others with information or experiences.
Re:AVM's treatment of avm of left leg/knee
hi. i'm a 23 yr old female from new zealand. i have had several surgeries to remove an avm from my left hip that travels down to near my knee and replace the large amount of skin taken with it. unless there is a recurrence that part is now gone, and my hip which looked like a balloon is flat. Also i no longer have the pain and constant itch that went with it. although my treatment was at times painful and often very uncomfortable i do recommend giving surgeons a chance to advise you if this is an option for you, as the end very much justified the means.
