Sorry I haven't been on and kept you guys all posted. But she just went back in to see her ped. and he said to wait and see. He won't refer me to a dermatologist because he sd it will go away on its own. My cousin had one and hers caved in and left scarring. I don't know what to do!! It hasn't progressed much but it has a little. Kind of burns me out because he told us it was a stork bite at first and I knew that it wasn't but we waited til her 2month check up and found out it was H. I don't know if I have a choice as to seeing a specialist or waiting because he won't refer me to see anybody and all we have is medicaid. I feel a lot better as to the situation though. It's not bothering me as much as it did when I first found out about H. I want to post a picture but am not sure how.

If you send a photo to contact@birthmark.org I will post it to the thread for you. Just remind me whose thread to put it with, so I don't put it in the wrong place ('cause that's embarrassing!).

Unfortunately not all pediatricians have enough experience with hemangiomas to know what h. will fade without issue and which can leave residual issues or even serious damage. Please do have Missy post a picture or you can email to me. If you do email me, remind me of her age and the changes you see. It might be necessary to look for a new primary care physician that will listen to your concerns and realize that not all h. are as simple as "going away on it's own".

Thanks missy, I noticed that is a very small picture and can hardly see the hemangioma on her lip. If I send you a closer picture of it, can you post it for me? Thank you again.

Well, good. Do let us know what happens. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your little guy gets what he needs.

LOL!!

My apologies. It's 100 degrees here and I think I fried something in my head yesterday. I knew that she was a she, too. I just can't get my fingers to cooperate.

Sheesh.
