Hello.......

Our daughter is 10 weeks old this week.

After about 14 days following her birth the Port Wine Stain (PWS) appeared on her entire foot and ankle. Pictures are attached.

I have read that PWSs are always present at birth (source: VBF Facts - About Vascular Birthmarks and Tumors) and hence this has created an uncertainty to whether it is a port wine stain. When the mark is pressed - it does fade marginally.

We are considering laser treatment as the likely way forward.

Does anyone know of any down-sides to treatment. We have been informed their is a risk of differing size feet and painful walking without laser treatment - hence we are tending towards treatment.
