Default New and worried

Hi. I am new and have been googling away hemangiomas since our daughter was diagnosed with it at her 2 week appointment. The doctor made it seem like no big deal and when I went home and googled it needless to say I have been upset and obsessing since. My daughters is on her eyebrow. After doing so much research I am wondering if the wait and see Approach is not good since it seems like it is difficult/lengthy process to get referrals. Everyone keeps reassuring me it will just go away but I worry about my daughters eye sight etc.

She is 3 weeks old. I live in Orange County ca. And I have blue shield HMO.

Looking for any advice, tips anything to help.
Thank you
Anne

Not sure how to upload a picture or I would add it. It is about a 1/2 centimeter diameter and in her eyebrow. It had not gotten any bigger just turned bright red on the past week.

Hi and welcome!

We have an expert there in Orange County and one in Los Angeles County. Go to http://birthmarks.org/experts.php and write to Dr. Nelson and write to Dr. Levitin. Both will help you! And both are the best in their fields. You wouldn't be in better hands.

Stop googling. Go to the beach instead. Do you know how bad the weather is everywhere else? I'll gladly trade places.

Missy

Hi Missy! Thank you for responding. Lol yes the weather is suppose to be 80 today. Too hot for winter!

I have emailed Dr. Nelson. Trying to see if it's possible to get a referral from my HMO insurance. Out of pocket expenses are out of our budget.

Thank you again. Hopefully I can relax and stop obsessing once I get on a path. Just worried it will harm her vision if it grows. Ah the guilt and worry of a mother.

IMO you should not do the wait and see approach because it is by her eye. My daughter's is also in her eyebrow and by her eye and nose, it's a "deep" hemangioma. Propanolol helped her tremendously in the beginning. Take some time and read my blog about it, it can explain so much for you and what we went through. :-)
