Default Multiple hemangioma on 3 month old

Hi, my daughter has 6 hemangiomas. She is 3months. She has one on her leg and one on her arm, both the size of a grape. She has others in diaper area, lower spine, scalp and under her eye- these are smaller about the size of a hole punch. The doctor has ordered a ultrasound of her abdomen this week to check her liver. I have read that some doctors order ultrasounds of the head or entire body or even MRI scans. Should I be asking for this. Can anyone give me any advice on what to ask the dermatologist and what kind of treatment has worked for anyone with several hemangiomas. Should I just wait and hope they just dissapear as many websites suggest? The one on the face and arm and leg really concern me as they are the most visible.

Freaked out and scared mom!

Hi there! I know that must seem really scary! Where is she being seen? I have not had any firsthand experience with this but I have heard of children having ultrasounds in cases like these. I will try to find out more information and get back to you.I think the course of treatment will probably depend on what the ultrasound shows. I would suggest that when you get the results of the ultrasound, you email Dr. Levitin (here on the Ask the Expert page) and you can send a photo as well. Tell him what is going on and what the doctor has said and he will likely be able to give you his opinion on the matter. Hang in there! I think you might feel better once you get more info and have a plan of action, at least that's how I felt. Keep us posted!
