Default Help with research for novel

I'm writing a novel. It is about a love affair between a man and a women who has a PWS on her left cheek. It follows their lives from the sixties when they are in their formative years through to the present day. Although her PWS is only a small part of the overall story, it is something that will crop up throughout and I would like to be able to offer the most sympathetic portrayal of growing up with a PWS.

I have read most of the posting on this site and done a great deal of research on the medical side. I would be very grateful for any anecdotes that people might be able to offer, coping strategies, examples of other's reactions etc and what people think having a PWS has taught them about life more widely....

I hope that makes sense and will be extremely grateful for any help....

Hi Alex,

This novel sounds really interesting. Even though I am a guy and gals have different way of growing up at guys do the PWS might be close to the same.
You are welcome to read my story at hankspws.com and use come up with some ideas for the novel. Also, check out the paper I wrote on social issues it has some good info on it as well.

Hope this helps and good luck with this novel.

Hank

Hi Alex,

Have you read Joie Davidow's book Marked for Life? This autobiography touches on all the issues you describe. It reads like a novel and it is also positioned in time similar to your outline.

Good luck!

Liesbeth
