i am 18 years of age and have recently started thinking about removing my birthmark. its on my lower back so can be hidden, but it make me very self concious. i am trying to identify the birthmark to look at treatment available. its very dark about an inch across and a few cents high! any ideas?

From what you discribed to me it sounds like PWS (Port Wine Stain).

Laser treatment is diffently a option you need to look into. At the front page of this site under resources you can find a doctor in your area. If you can not find a doctor in that section let us know what state you live in and the people on this group might know of a doctor in you area.

I am in the same situation as you... I have Hem. on my back side aka my butt lol and i am only 15 but i still hate knowing its there. it has left me with scars. I would give ANYTHING! for it to be gone. message me and maybe we can figure out how to get thru our self conciousness together.
