Default I'm having dental surgery and I'm concerened about bleeding because of my pws on

I am having my canine teeth pulled next week under iv sedation and I'm concerned about bleeding and so is the surgeon. My MD doesn't seem to think it will be a problem but he also admits he doesn't know much about pws. This is the first time Ive ever researched anything about my birthmark. I can't believe all the information out there. Has anyone ever had teeth pulled with a pws on the gums? Please help me I'm scared to do this

Hi Kimberlyann,

My name is Hank 23 with PWS.

I have PWS in my gums and have had allot of dental work with braces, teeth removed, and had all my Wisdom teeth removed all in the same couple of years. They where expecting me to bleed really bad when I had my Wisdome teeth removed because of my crated artery problem and suprisingly it did not bleed bad at all.

If you go in to the doctors office all scared and worried your blood starts pumping harder which will cause you to bleed more. If you keep your mind off of it during the removal you should not bleed as bad. Tell them to give you some laughing gas. That is what they gave me and it side tracked me completely about the surgery.

If you want to talk more about it let me know. You can email me directly or message back here.

I am glad you found this site and hope to hear more about you and how you have delt with PWS in your life.

Talk to you soon.

Hank

Hi Kimberlyann,

Just a thought after responding to your priviate message. Could you post on here where your PWS is. I want some other people that are on this site's opinion, but I think you might have Sturge Weber Syndrome. Might posably have KT since it is on your legs as well. Since the PWS is 90% of your face, is it anywhere near your eyes? I would very very strongly suggest getting your eyes tested for glacoma.

A MRI with contrast would be able to tell you if you have SWS. There are allot of info on SWS on this website and the SWSC (Community) site that is connected to this site. If you are seeing Dr. Waner in Aug you must get a MRI done before you go see him. Unless you have a current one on had I would mail it to him ASAP.

PS Geoff has SWS as well.

Let me know.

Hank
