Default Crutches with a VM??

Hey all,

I have a question I have a Grade 3 ankle sprain that has me on crutches for the last week and for the next few weeks, it could need surgery. But my question is I have a VM throughout my left elbow and it is more swollen and painful since the crutches. Should I not be on crutches, could this lead to more problems with the VM, like trigger it's growth???

Thanks

Kristie

Hi Kristie,

Can you walk with just one crutch on your good are? Or is the VM on the same side as the sprain.

You could always ask one of the doctors on the left side of this website.

I hope your leg heals fast.

Hank

Hank,

It's the same side, and my elbow has gotten much larger since the ankle sprain...I go to the ortho on monday, I am going to look into a wheelchair, as I cannot tolerate any weight on the ankle..

Thanks

Kristie
