We are collecting data for research. Please contact Corinne Barinaga

1) Has anyone who has had a child with a vascular birthmark been told they had any type of placental problem: placenta previa, toxemia, detached placenta, other.

2) If yes, what type of placental problem?

3) What type of birthmark does the baby have: Hemangioma, PWS, VM, LM, AMV, CMTC, other.

4) Please include your first and last name and phone number and/or email address if we need to contact you in the future.

Hi Corrine, I have been reading these past posts and came across this one. I don't know if this info about my family will help. However, I had gestational diabetes with all of my children, my last child had an hemangioma on his right middle finger that covered the upper tip of his finger that ended up going away by the time he was two; he was also born with hypospadia as well as has Long QT syndrome; my oldest son, the placenta abrupted and he was born 7 weeks early,he has long QT syndrome, my oldest daughter has an AVM of her right hand and forearm involving both her bones and muscles (she does not present as having long qt syndrome).

Hemangiomas run in our family. My grandmother had one in the middle of her forehead. One niece had a hemangioma on her back; a nephew had a cavernous hamangioma on his upper arm; another nephew had a hemangioma on his arm. I don't know how much of a genetic link there is to all of that, but it seems like there might be some kind of connection. By the way, the Long QT syndrome comes down on my husbands side of the family. The nieces and nephews that have had hemangiomas are also on my husbands side of the family.

I hope that info helped with help with your study. Talk with you later, Sarah
