Benign hemangiomatosis - now at age 5 are itchy?
I'm so glad I've found this forum - all my Google searches just lead me NOWHERE about hemangiomatosis!
My son was diagnosed with hemangiomatosis at birth. He was covered in what we initially thought were bruises but biopsy confirmed hemangiomas. They never raised up though luckily. Ultrasound of his major organs confirmed none internally.
They have gradually faded away from being bright red to being barely visible, looking either pretty much invisible or just a pale bruise. However just recently they've started to become itchy. It's normally after he's been crying, so assumably blood is rushing to the hemangiomas. But why now, why weren't they itchy all this time? He just turned 5 last month.
Is this normal? I'm going to ask for a referral from our GP to a specialist, but that will probably take ages to come through (we're in Scotland).
