accutane + AVM

I have a birthmark on the left side of my face.* I have had a bone graph, jaw resection, embolizations to stop hemorraging from the area.* It has been stablized for about 5 years or so now.* *My problem is that I have acne that is now getting to be too severe for me and nothing else is helping.* *I wonder if anyone knows of any complications Accutane may have on AVM?* Thanks.

What other treatments for your acne have you tried?

I know two things about accutane... that it can cause birth defects if taken while pregnant and that you're not supposed to have laser, microdermabrasion, etc, while taking it. It has also been linked to depression and suicide in teens and there has been some talk of it being taken off the market.

So, you'll have to speak to your doc about it. I have rosacea and considered trying accutane for it, but was able to find another treatment that worked for me. It's difficult, though, to feel really good about yourself when you aren't comfortable with your face!

Now if they only had a treatment for my big rear end!!!
