with the Lenox Hill Hospital and
Dr. Robert Rosen, Dr. Milton Waner,
Dr. Francine Blei, and Dr. Roy Geronemus

October 6, 2018 | New York, NY

It’s that time again – registration is now open for the 2018 VBF Annual Vascular Birthmarks Conference and Clinic. We are very excited to announce that this year’s conference will be held in New York City on Saturday, October 6, 2018. This year the conference is one full day which will include the conference lectures and a clinic with world renowned vascular birthmark experts.

This year’s conference and clinic will be held at the Lenox Hill Hospital 130 East 77th Street on Floors 1 and 2 . We only have 50 FREE HOTEL ROOMS for ONE NIGHT (Friday evening) for the first 50 eligible families who register. Once the rooms are gone, we will continue to accept registrations for the conference, but you will need to secure your own lodging. You may be able to find discounted rooms at Hotels.com, Expedia.com or other such discounted sites. NOTE: The 50 FREE ROOMS are for families who do not live in the immediate NYC region.

This year we will require a credit card and there will be a $25 processing fee for everyone who registers, even if you get a free room and we waive all conference and clinic fees. If you do not attend the conference and you have a free room, your credit card will be charged $298 (cost to VBF for the hotel room). So, please make sure you are attending when you register. We will give a 100% refund if you cancel 30 days prior to the conference (by September 6, 2018) or a 50% refund if you cancel by September 22nd. There will be no refund after October 1st. Lodging for those receiving free rooms will be at the Affinia Shelburne. If you are selected for a free room and would like to extend your stay at the Affinia Shelburne beyond the one night paid for by VBF at your own cost of $308/ night, please contact Kristin with our event team at conference.vbf@gmail.com by August 22nd to make reservations.

There is a $100 conference/clinic fee per family. This fee entitles the family to admission to the conference, a free clinic appointment, breakfast and lunch, daycare (if needed) and attendance to special sessions (make-up, psychotherapy, support, dental and insurance services).  If there is a financial hardship, fees will be waived so long as you complete the request for a fee waiver located at the end of the conference registration form.

Conference check-in is at 7:30am and conference sessions will begin at 8:30am. There will be three meeting rooms this year with presentations concerning hemangiomas, port wine stains, vascular malformations, venous malformations, lymphatic malformations, Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome and Sturge Weber Syndrome. There will be other special sessions which will be announced once we receive confirmation. Lunch is provided for all attendees from 12:30-1:00pm.

Dr. Geronemus will be providing a free laser treatment, without anesthesia, to the first 25 who qualify for this treatment. All laser treatments will be on Friday, October 5th, the day before the conference. To be considered for a free laser session, you will need to be screened and pre-approved by Dr. Geronemus. In addition, Dr. David Darrow will be working with NYU Dental School to provide free dental exams on Friday, October 5th to those who qualify.  We are currently awaiting confirmation for the free dental exams and will provide updates to eligible individuals as they become available. We will also offer free orthodontic exams on Saturday afternoon.

Clinic sessions will be from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Lenox Hill Hospital. Breakfast and Lunch will also be right at the Hospital, so there is no need to leave once you arrive for check in.

To register, use the links below to register on-line or download, print and mail in a registration form. We need at least one clear photo (uploaded during the online registration process or emailed to Kristin Herrick at conference.vbf@gmail.com) showing the birthmark for each patient so that we can ensure that the patient is scheduled with the appropriate clinic team, and so that we can assess if the patient is qualified for the free laser treatment.

We look forward to welcoming you at our 19th Annual Conference in New York! Thank you to our sponsors and physicians for supporting our families.

Sincerely,

Dr. Linda Rozell-Shannon, PhD
